Who is the OOC?

The OOC is an organization of 42 producing companies and 54 service providers to the industry who conduct essentially all of the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) oil and gas exploration and production activities.  Founded in 1948, the OOC is a technical advocate for the oil and gas industry regarding the regulation of offshore exploration, development and production on the OCS.  Our membership consists of companies representing approximately 99% of the OCS production.

Key to our success

The OOC is successful because of our members expertise and dedication to safely locating and extracting one of our nation's most valuable resources.  We maintain 12-standing subcommittees, including an Executive Board, that tackle the tough issues facing OCS operators.  These committees regularly engage regulators and other critical entities through written comments, meetings, workshops and forums to identify and implement solutions that benefit the energy industry and other stakeholders.  In addition to our subcommittees, the OOC can also quickly establish ad hoc workgroups to address urgent challenges or requests.  Our ability to be nimble and mount a rapid response in one of our core strengths.
