About The Event
OOC is launching a new ad hoc initiative under the Operations Subcommittee to develop industry guidance addressing the use of permanent downhole pressure gauges as an equivalent means of meeting BOEM’s static bottomhole pressure survey requirements.
The effort will bring together OOC subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop the technical and safety justification for recognizing permanent downhole pressure gauges as an alternative to annual wireline pressure surveys, where appropriate. The goal is to work collaboratively with MMA SMEs to develop practical guidance that supports modern reservoir surveillance technology while reducing unnecessary well intervention and associated operational risk.
